Your root canal procedure should be the end of your dental pain. Once it is complete, and your tooth is capped with a crown, you should be able to bite, chew, and speak without difficulty. However, if problems start again, or if discomfort never fully subsides, our practice can assist you. At your appointment, we can use diagnostic imaging tools to carefully evaluate your oral health. Once the source of your trouble has been identified, we can move forward with retreatment to make sure your tooth is healthy once again.
A retreatment will occur whenever problems persist, or arise again, after dental problems occur with a tooth that has been cared for in the past. After carefully revealing your pulp, Dr. Endo will tend to it, working to resolve the source of your trouble. As we evaluate this space, we can look for any reasons why you continue to have trouble, and we can recommend provide the appropriate care. Once this work is done, we can re-seal your pulp, and you can return to your general dentist to have a dental crown put in place.
Endodontic services provide treatments that can save teeth at risk for being extracted. One problem you may face is the loss of a tooth because it cannot support a crown after treatment. If this is a problem, we can recommend a Post And Core or Core Buildup to make sure your restoration stays in place. We also provide oral surgery when necessary, as a conservative procedure can give us access to areas that tend to be out of a general dentist’s reach.
Retreatment can be necessary when problems persist after past dental work. If we find that it is a necessary service for you, we can make sure trouble is addressed so that you are no longer in pain, and no longer at risk of losing a vulnerable tooth.
